Thyme watches Mana apply the dye remover, the red stains coming out of his coat, though he apparently decides to leave his armor as-is for now. She turns her attention back to Ryo when the guard asks if there's anything she's interested in. She seems quite nervous, for reasons Thyme couldn't figure out. Maybe she just wasn't good at meeting new ponies? Whatever it was, Thyme just nods as Ryo answers that she doesn't know what she wants. While her two customer's time was apparently limited, Thyme herself wasn't in any particular hurry. "Feel free to take your time." She says to the younger mare, and glances over at Mana again for a moment, in case he has anything else he wants.

"You... don't?" Mana asked back, finding the way she'd answered him to be a bit odd, "Are you sure? We can pick something up if you'd like. There's probably all kind's of things in here that can do all who knows what and would make for an interesting time. I've been studying alchemy a little bit myself these last few months and let me tell you it can lead to some interesting effects. Wouldn't you agree miss Thyme?" the guard asked the owner of the shop after she'd urged them to take their time, "What are some of the more interesting side effects or mishaps that you've been hit with in the past because of your trade, if you don't mind me asking? Also, any favorites around here that you could recommend for ponies looking for something fun?"

Thyme nods to Mana's question. While she didn't really carry much in the way of unusual effects, there were definitely some quite interesting things you could achieve with potions. As for mishaps and side effects... well, she'd had her fair share of both, but what would be interesting enough to mention?... "Well, once when I was experimenting with some magic dye, but it ended up making anything it was used on smell so strongly of cinnamon it burned your nose being close to it." Perhaps not the most exciting thing ever, but she had gotten something useful out of it... "Eventually I figured out how that happened, and with some modification I was able to make it bearable. Now I sell a variety of different scented dyes." Thyme thinks for a moment. "There was one time I spilled something into a potion I was working on that made me sneeze glitter for a week, and another time a mishap made my mane grow ten feet long. As for recommendations..." She looks around the shop, going through a mental list of her inventory for things that sound interesting. "I of course have many different kinds of dyes, like the scented ones I mentioned. There's also ones that glow or change color in certain conditions. I even have some that make patterns." She looks around the shop again. Other things that could be fun... Her mind goes to that suggestion for a potion to make somepony look like an alicorn. Maybe she'd look into that, after she finished with her experiments with the Dust for Chaser. "I carry a few other things as well, potions to change your voice or create harmless magical flames, among other things."

The mishaps sounded silly to Ryo. The closest thing she had ever done to this kind of alchemy was probably the vegetable soup she had prepared few times in the past. The glitter sneezes made Ryo giggle a bit, a mental image of Thyme sneezing glitter making it's way to her head.

While Ryo didn't really care about cinnamon, the glowing dye grabbed her interest. Ryo began to scan the shop, trying to spot the said dye to maybe see how much it costs, but she failed to spot the glowing Dye. Not wanting to interrupt the conversation, Ryo waited for Mana's reply to Thyme, before she asked from Thyme "I-is the g-glowing Dye E-... Expensive...?" Ryo was still spinning the question about cutie mark potion in her head, but didn't ask it yet. She would need to somehow muster more courage first.

Mana gave a small chuckle at the odd effects caused by Thyme's potions in the past, the one involving sneezed puffs of confetti sounding especially entertaining and or adorable to see with the guard wondering if shed found a way to reproduce the effects reliably or had merely had that occur as a single accidental that hadn't been replicated. He entertained the idea of maybe picking up a scented dye or two at some point - that's what stallions did on dates right? Wear cologne and stuff? - but ultimately the mention of harmless flames caught his attention as he tried to guess f it would spout them from the mouth upon being ingested or was meant to be poured over something to coat them in flames instead. Maybe his uncle would be interested in learning about that particular little concoction to spice up his shows...

"Um.. and does this remover work with the glow in the dark stuff as well?" Mana asked when Ryo showed interest as he wanted to make sure his armor may not accidentally start glowing in the dark any time soon and lose any tactical worth at night before a brief moment was spent trying to understand why Ryo was stuttering so much.

"The glowing dyes are twenty three bits for the regular version and thirty five for the permanent version." Thyme answers, still a bit curious about why Ryo is so nervous. She's tempted to ask what the problem is, but she is trying to be professional and the blue mare's reasons are probably none of her business. "And it glows all the time, not just in the dark, so you don't need to worry about that." She says, turning toward Mana. "But yes, the dye remover works on all types."

Okay, Ryo wanted to buy a vial of that dye. It sounded way too neat to pass on. Remembering her bit situation, Ryo began to think that maybe she should also get a vial of that dye remover, hearing that it works on the glowing dye too, just in case something goes wrong with the dye. Then again that would burn a good portion of the bits she had managed to save up. Decision was quickly made however, and Ryo would buy the said items. But what color...? Blue? That would make sense, kinda... But Thyme didn't mention what color's she had in stock. Having failed to spot the glowing dyes earlier, Ryo asked "W-what colors a-are there... I-i mean... W-what colored gl-glowing dyes...? T-the permanent ones... I-if there is di-different colors to ch-choose from..."

"I have a variety of different colors, if you'd like me to show you." Thyme asnwers, turning to roll out from behind the counter. The mare figures it would just be easier to let Ryo see her selection, as there were too many colors to name easily. She wheels past Ryo and over to one of the aisles, pausing to make sure the blue mare is following before continuing. "They're right here." She says, stopping next to a shelf of bottles containing faintly glowing liquids in a number of different colors. "The glow is a little hard to notice in the day time."

Ryo gave Thyme a nod. Seeing the selection would most likely be the best option. After Thyme left the counter and headed towards the dye shelves, Ryo followed her, after giving Mana a nod to tell him that she would be right back, as if that wasn't obvious, them being in the same building that only housed one store, but she felt like that was a polite thing to do. After reaching the shelf containing the dyes, Ryo felt like a filly in candy shop would, when they are only "allowed" to pick one type of candy from the store. There was a lot of dyes there. And lot's of colors to choose from. Ryo scanned the shelf, giving Thyme a small nod when she mentioned that the glow was hard to see in daylight.

"Uhm..." Ryo spotted the blue the she had thought about, but also saw a red dye there. For some reason red dye was also tempting. "I-i don't know... I-if i should take blue... Or red dye... Uhh..." It was like Ryo was asking Thyme to help her decide, but her continuous mumbling didn't give the shop owner chance to do so. After few minutes of debating, Ryo finally announced her choice "I-i take that light b-blue one... O-over there..." Ryo pointed to the said dye, it's color being very close to her coat color. "I-i would... A-also take a bottle of that dye remover... J-just in case... P-please..." Ryo didn't take the bottle from the shelf herself, unsure if she was supposed to do that. She was ready to follow Thyme to the counter, to pay for the items she had chosen.

Thyme glances from Ryo to the bottles of faintly glowing dye. She's not really sure if she should be making the choice for the other mare. She supposes she could tell Ryo her own preference though... The green mare opens her mouth to speak, but Ryo has apparently made her decision, pointing out a light blue shade that very nearly matches her coat. Thyme nods, and when Ryo seems reluctant to actually take the bottle, levitates it off the shelf and over to the blue mare. "Here you go." She wheels past Ryo and back toward the counter, levitating a bottle of the dye remover to the other mare as well. "That's thirty-eight bits." She says as after they reach the counter. "Is there anything else?" She asks, looking between the two other ponies.

Ryo accepted the dye, when Thyme floated it down for her, and followed the other mare back to the counter. After hearing the price being announced, Ryo set the light blue dye on the table and dug her small bit pouch from her saddle bags, and began to count the bits for her purchases "T-thirty-eight..." Ryo repeated silently, as she floated coins on the table. Ryo doesn't answer Thyme instantly, giving Mana a chance to answer first. After Ryo had placed enough bits on the counter, and after possible ongoing conversation between Mana and Thyme ended, Ryo decided to ask what she had wanted to ask for a while now.

"U-uhhh... I, uhm... I w-was thinking... T-that maybe..." Ryo stopped midway of her quite broken sentence. She cleared her throat, took a deep breath and with collected determination, did her best to ask the question "I-i was thinking, That is there m-maybe... A-a potion that would, uhhh... H-help, ponies..." Ryo kept a short pause, before realizing that she should probably be a bit more precise. "I-i mean... L-like with... Uhm... If they're... M-missing, something... L-like, uhm... T-their cutie marks...?"

Thyme accepts the coins from Ryo when the blue mare gives them to her, and does a quick count before depositing them in the register. She glances over at Mana, but the stallion seems content with his current purchases and remains silent. She turns back to Ryo when the mare starts speaking again, the her nervous stutter even more pronounced than before. Thyme raises a curious eyebrow a Ryo pauses several times, seemingly very nervous about what she wants to ask for. Thyme's expression shifts into a slight frown once Ryo does manage to say what's on her mind. A potion to help a pony get their cutie mark? She had notices that Ryo didn't have one, but she hadn't really thought much of it. The green mare remains silent for a couple seconds, trying to decide what to say. "I'm afraid I haven't heard of a potion able to do that." She eventually says. "I can look into it for you though if you like, and I'll tell you what I find out if you come back sometime." She offers, though she's not sure if she'll actually be able to find anything useful.

"Oh..." Ryo said a little disappointed, but her ears perked up when Thyme said she could try to look into it, if there would actually be a potion or brew for her problem. "I-i would really appreciate that..." Feeling less nervous now that she managed to ask what she had intended to ask, Ryo began to think. Her eyes lowered down to the counter, and she went quiet, humming a little every now and then, while also floating the dyes in to her saddlebags. After moment, Ryo realized having just zoned out, and with a little blush making it's way to her cheeks, she issued a quick apology to Thyme and continued "I-i could come here the next time i come to C-Canterlot..." Ryo then looked back to Mana, who had remained quiet for a bit, waiting to see if he still had some business in the store.

true to the corp, Mana had waited with easy patience forged through discipline and watched as Ryo had went about her small bout of shopping, the guard having occasionally levitated a potion here and there closer to him out of curiosity and to help pass the time before setting them back down and looking back to the mares.

A potion for gaining a cutie mark... An interesting idea. Mana had noticed Ryo's lack of a mark when... er... well, he'd noticed, and while he hadn't given it much thought he was finding the idea of a potion granting such a thing as being interesting. Or familiar. Which was it... Wait, didn't he hear something about a potion like that when he was at work once? Was it a potion? He couldn't quite recall, but he did find it interesting enough to mention... But he stopped short when he remembered a certain teeny tiny detail.

If he was starting to remember right, that potion was more of a curse than a blessing...

"Oh, um," Mana spoke up when he saw Ryo look his way, him looking between her and thyme for a few moments before feeling a creeping sense of disappointment. If she was done shopping that meant they would be leaving... Which probably meant the train station...

"Er... You sure that's everything? Nothing else you want to look at? What about this... erm..." he randomly levitated a bottle towards and read the label aloud, "... Scent of Farm?  Wait, Scent of Farm?" he turned his attention towards Thyme and raised an eyebrow, "What reason would someone need this?"

Thyme doesn't really notice Ryo falling silent, the alchemist already attempting to brainstorm ideas as to how to get a potion like that to work. Unfortunately, she has few immediate ideas, having never really looked into that subject before. It definitely seems like an interesting project, and she'd need to visit the library to look into what she could find out about how cutie marks work. She nods when Ryo says she'll stop by the next time she's in Canterlot. "Do you have any idea when you'll visit next?" She asks, then looks at Mana as the guard speaks up. For a moment she wonders why he suddenly seems reluctant to leave, and the mare glances over at Ryo for a moment as Mana picks up a bottle at random. Something to do with her maybe? Her attention returns to the blue stallion as he asks about the bottle he'd picked up. "Some ponies find those kinds of scents soothing, and I've designed it to have a calming effect just on it's own." Thyme looks toward where Mana had retrieved the potion from, where a couple other different kinds of scents can be seen. "I haven't been making these for long, and I could probably stand to work on the label a bit more..."
