Canterlot / Re: Heavy Hurry

Ryo stood completely still after giving her name to the guard. Seeing how Mana started to act differently, Ryo decided that it would be her best bet to stay still and wait for what the guards had to say. But things never seem to go as planned for Ryo. Not only was there a loud crash caused by a falling pony, but the filly next to her suddenly woke up, yelled 'Everypony for themselves!' and began to run around the bag.

With great amount of willpower, Ryo managed to stay relatively still. She kept repeating "now's your chance to run" in her mind, but only movement she had made was a slight jump to her left when Brash's yell startled her. Running away now would be stupid. She couldn't possibly outrun two royal guards, and she truly was innocent. At least she thought she was.

Ryo briefly thought what Thunderclap asked from Mana. Maybe she had fallen asleep, or hit her head and was now seeing a crazy dream.

Ryo remained silent as Mana asked, what she thought were rhetorical questions. When Mana asked her name, Ryo thought that maybe she should give them a wrong name, just to be safe, but before she could say anything, Thunderclap **** another joke about Mana.

Ryo blushed even more at Thunder's 'joke', but almost jumped out of her coat when Mana suddenly cut Thunder off, not sounding too happy. Now more nervous than before, Ryo turned her full attention to Mana when he repeated his earlier question to her. Her intent to give a false name was completely forgotten, as Ryo nervously answered to Mana"I-it's... Ryo... Ma'am. I-i mean, Sir."

The two opposite looks Ryo was receiving confused her, maybe this was the classic 'good cop', 'bad cop' interrogation. She immediately wanted to point out that the other guard had something red on his face, but last thing she wanted to do was to insult these guards.

Ryo giggled when Thunderclap joked about his partner, but she quickly wiped her smile away when she saw the killing stare Mana was giving to Thunderclap, and blushed herself after realizing the possible reason for Mana's vicious stare. Ryo slowly lowered her hooves at Thunderclaps order, unsure of what exactly was going on. She watched nervously as Mana Burn moved to inspect the bag. Hoping that the guards were only after Brash's bag, she tried to hide her own saddlebags as well as she could without moving too much. Wanting to keep the conversation targeted in Brash's mysterious bag, Ryo began to respond to Mana's questions. "She was alone... I think. She told me she had a train to catch."

"I don't. I stopped to ask if she needed any help moving this bag. I have no idea what's in that thing." Ryo said, trying to sound convincing. She was praying for the guards to leave before she'd began to believe that she actually was guilty in some crime herself. When Mana asked her to turn around, Ryo let out an audible gulp and without saying anything, turned to face the guards, still holding her hooves up in the air.

"What have i done..." Ryo thought. "Now i'm surely suspected of doing something illegal... Think Ryo, think..." She remained silent for a moment, before she said something that would most likely cause her more trouble.

"Innocent in any crime, fraud, felony or any other illegal activity, both minor or major that you may or may not be accusing me of..." Ryo mentally facehoofed after saying what she just said. Her back still turned to Thunderclap, Ryo carefully turned her head to see Brash when asked about the filly. "I think so... She said she was tired and that she needed some rest. She has been sleeping for almost half an hour now."

After looking around for a good ten minutes, Ryo was ready to give up. Her next plan was to shout out if anypony knew a filly with grey coat and messy black mane, but before she could execute her 'well thought' plan, somepony addressed her with a rather formal voice. Ryo had her back turned to Thunderclap, but she assumed from the voice that he was a royal guard. A quick thought ran trough her mind that maybe Brash had stolen whatever she had in that bag and tried to get it off from Canterlot, and she had offered to help the filly. In panic, Ryo shot her front hooves in the air and shouted.

"I'm innocent!"

"Great... Just great. What do i do now...?" Ryo looked around to see if there were any other ponies there. After confirming that the route was clear she slowly stepped away from Brash, intending to continue to her original destination, but after a short while, Ryo returned to where Brash was sleeping, frustrated. "Uuuh... I can't leave her here alone. She's just a filly. Maybe her parents are nearby." Ryo trotted back and forth in a small area around where Brash was napping, trying to spot somepony who was possibly looking for a lost filly.

"Yokel? Why you-... H-Hey! Are you okay?" Ryo panicked shortly when she saw Brash slumping down on the ground, but was relieved when Brash said that she simply needed some rest. "I thought you had a train to catch, dummy" Ryo didn't like name calling, but technically Brash had started it.

Realizing that Brash was already sleeping, Ryo walked next to her and Poked Brash's side. "Hey. Are you... sleeeping..." Ryo looked at the bag Brash has pulled in the middle of the street. Unsure what she should do now that Brash was sleeping and her belongings laid there on the street. "Should i go... Or look after that bag until she wakes up..." She debated silently. It wasn't really her headache what happened to that bag, but if it got stolen after she left, that filly would surely blame her for stealing it.

"Yes." Ryo blurted out immediately when Brash questioned if she thought that the filly was dumb. "No, i mean... You could have borrowed one... Maybe...?" Ryo hoped that Brash didn't hear her just insult the filly.

Her ears perked up when Brash mentioned Ponyville. Trying to hide her insult by changing the subject of their conversation, Ryo moved next to the bag and placed her hoof on it, implying that she would help Brash to push the bag to the station. "So... Why are you going to Ponyville?"

Ryo rolled her eyes at Brash's response. "Should have kept my mouth shut and walk by" She though, looking at the filly's vain attempt to move the bag. Considering her options to either leave the stubborn filly there alone with her heavy burden, or offer her help again. She chose to offer her help to Brash once more. "Just because i'm a unicorn doesn't necessarily mean that i'm only capable to... cast 'dumb' magic."

"Where are you taking this... Stuff? Surely you could have used a wagon or something similar." Ryo said. She raised her hoof few times to say something, but almost immediately lowered it back to the ground. Instead of offering her help to Brash, Ryo just stood there, waiting for the filly to realize that she couldn't get this mysterious bag to move alone.

Ryo happily trotted down the streets of Canterlot. She could finally leave this 'dazzling' community behind and move to somewhere where it's more peaceful. Her movement had hint of some pony dance style, but she couldn't name what dance it was, she didn't have time to learn how to dance. She produced a bag of bits from her saddlebag and did a quick count on her funds. "One-seventy-nine, one-eighty, one-eighty-one, one hundred and eighty two bits... Train ticket cost at least ten bits... I still need to get food once i'm there... And..." Ryo spoke to herself, her voice turning into mumbling mess as she listed things that would cost her bits.

Ryo's train of thought was derailed however, when she heard a horrifying ruckus coming from the same direction she was going. Ryo spotted a grey filly rolling a very heavy looking bag of... Something, down the road. Having learned that in Canterlot it's basically everypony for themselves, Ryo first though about passing by, pretending she would not see the pony who was clearly in desperate need of help, but she decided otherwise. Ryo trotted next to Brash and slowed her pace to match Brash's. With a hint of uncertainty in her voice, Ryo asked.

"Do you need help with that?"

Bio: As a young filly Ryo lived in Canterlot, with her father Midnight Comet and her mother Aegis. She had great magical potential, which lead her parents to send her to the school for gifted unicorns. However her lack of interest in arcane arts got her thrown out from the school. Ryo loved to examine different kind of mechanical devices and no clock nor blender was safe from her curiosity. At age of 7 she built her first working clock from scratch (Her father helped a little), only using scrap metal she found from junkyard. Ryo spend most of her free time at nearby workshop, owned by a close family-friend, Steel Ingot. Steel taught her basics of blacksmithing and how to work with various ores and metals.

Mere weeks before she would have had her tenth birthday, there was an accident at her childhood home. The house caught on fire in the middle of the night. Midnight Comet was able to get Ryo out of the house, but went back to the burning building, trying to save Aegis from the raging inferno, but neither one of them got out. Steel ingot was first to arrive to the scene, bringing firefighters with him, who were able to put out the flames. No one ever found a reason to why or how the fire had started.

Ryo was adopted by Steel Ingot, for there were no close relatives that could take her in. Steel continued to teach everything he knew about the forge, smithing and magic related to his job to Ryo. Ryo worked hard and discovered that she could transmute metals and shape them with magic, making most tools useless to her. Word got out about her peculiar talent after she transmuted coal into gold in front of a group of ponies and she got arrested. The talent of a unicorn is unchangeable, thus she received no punishment, but she was forbid of using her "talent" to make gold. Shortly after she realized that her talent couldn't be utilized in smithing, Ryo started to study crystals and gemstones and their potential to store magical energy. She was able to create short timed "batteries" by manipulating their structure, but their usability was nonexistent. Despite her setback, she decided to keep up her studies. Ryo created her first magic infused crystal core at the age of 18 and with it powered up a lamp for one whole week. Even at this age she still has no cutie mark. Doctors believe it's because of the possible trauma caused by the accident, though they never got into an agreement on the actual cause.

At the age of 19, Ryo decided to leave Canterlot and chase her dream of having her own business one day. She packed everything she had and after thanking Steel for his kindness, Ryo took her first steps towards her newly begun independent life.

Extra Details: Likes to play an ocarina said to be carved from crystallized dragon's heart, that used to belong to her mother. Ryo has tried to learn how to teleport around, but she never completely learned how to do it (Unable to completely control the outcome when teleporting around. distance (max 15m) and location where she appears is random.)
