Fully expecting to lean in and meet Octavia's lips with hers once again, Vinyl continued on her way to fulfill her quest. What she was met with, however, was a very strange sensation: a cold, almost slimy object was stuck into Vinyl's mouth in place of the warm, soft kiss she'd been expecting to find. Her eyes fluttered open in surprise, frozen for a moment with her hoof still around the back of Octavia's neck, before the mare's words registered in her brain and she had to deflate a little bit with a disappointed sigh. "Yeah, I guess you're right," she conceded, taking a moment to rub her own lips together as she focused on the slight tingling sensation there from the first kiss.

"Sheesh. Four in the morning. We're gonna be zombies come the end of the day. 'Least there won't be any of this," she said lightheartedly, leaning over so she could try and nip playfully at Octavia's ear, even reaching a hoof over to pull the mare to her so she could achieve her goal. "By the way, you didn't answer me when I asked how long you'd been wanting to do that, 'Tavi," she said after returning to her original position, idly peeling potatoes as she spoke. "Lemme guess, ever since you first saw me, right?"

"I don't... Well, I didn't mean..." Vinyl stumbled along after Octavia asked what she'd meant by something that had been said, hoping she hadn't messed anything up by not thinking about her words. To her slight surprise, though, Octavia didn't dwell on that--instead, she almost immediately went on to her second question. A little strange, but okay... Almost sweating from how uncomfortable the situation was, Vinyl shifted in her seat, only to freeze yet again when she noticed Octavia inching closer... and closer... and closer... Her breath caught in her throat as she watched Octavia close the distance between them, wondering for a moment if this was some cruel joke she was playing.

Nope. Octavia kept moving closer until, finally, she locked her lips with Vinyl's. Her ears fluttered a little bit at the soft sensation of their lips contacting each other, her eyes drooping shut as she gave into the kiss, leaning forward in bliss. Just as she began lifting a hoof to the side of Octavia's head, however, the cellist pulled away, leaving Vinyl sitting in place in a somewhat awkward position: leaning forward with her hoof raised, her eyes closed, and her cheeks ablaze. As she lowered her hoof and leaned back to straighten herself out a little bit, Vinyl gave a quiet, throaty hum before giggling, a giddy sound accompanied by a shiver from the mare. "Now I've gotta wonder how long you've been waiting to do that..." Vinyl said with a grin as she opened her eyes to look at Octavia, her tongue briefly moving out of her mouth to run along her own lips. "But do I regret it? Hmm..." She tapped her hoof on her chin for a moment as she eyed Octavia up and down, only to then lean forward a little bit once more. "I dunno. I think I need another taste before I decide," she said coyly, grin spreading on her lips again as she reached forward, pulling Octavia forward again and meeting her halfway for another kiss.

Vinyl just chuckled a little bit after Octavia admonished Vinyl for making a joke, feeling a little bit better about the situation after deflecting some of the tension with a joke. Though after Octavia asked her question of if Vinyl regretted anything, she froze in place as she clammed up, not having been prepared to answer that question just yet. She stammered for a few moments, not really getting anything out other than a few "I..."s and some "uhhhh"s as she tried to figure out the best way to respond to the question. "I, uh... Haven't given you that impression, have I?" she finally said when her mind and mouth decided they wanted to cooperate. "'Cause... I mean, I like you, right? I really like being around you, you're a lot more fun than you seem, you're... really pretty..." she mumbled, realizing what she was saying only as it was coming out of her mouth. She froze for another few seconds before she cleared her throat, quickly continuing with, "I guess... the point is... N-no, I don't... That's... That's a good thing, right? I hope? You don't regret it, do you...?"

Yeah, this was going great. As Vinyl stumbled over her words, she was reminded of why she hadn't really approached this topic in the past: it was full of unknowns, and what ifs, and the possibility of ruining things. Not that she usually minded those kinds of things when her 'F-I-L-D-I' kicked in, but... Things with Octavia were different. Octavia was a good friend--a really good friend--and she was also Vinyl's roommate. There were a lot of consequences if things got awkward between them. Instinctively, Vinyl swallowed when Octavia piped up, talking about what she thought. That gulp was then followed quickly by a blush that Vinyl couldn't hide when Octavia mentioned it being something that Vinyl had wanted for some time, another nervous chuckle escaping her as she continued shredding the potato.

Even as Octavia stepped up beside her, the DJ kept her attention on the meal she was making, avoiding the urges to flick her gaze over to the cellist when she continued, mentioning she had a question. For a moment, Vinyl tried to figure out what that could be as she was finally unable to keep from turning her full attention over to Octavia when she said her name the way she did, only to fumble briefly when she was asked to put the potatoes down. She hesitated for a moment before 'umm'ing quietly as she set the cheese grater and potato down, followed by her turning to face Octavia fully. "'Tavi, I know I'm not the best at grammar, but last I checked that wasn't a question..."

Devoting herself to continuing with the peeling of the potatoes, Vinyl nodded slightly to Octavia's agreement to talk, some of the anxiousness she'd always felt before when she even thought about broaching the subject with her before surfacing once again. At least until Octavia randomly exclaimed over the fact that it was three-thirty, causing Vinyl to drop the potato and the peeler in surprise. "Dang, Octypus, I didn't think it was that big a deal," she murmured as she levitated the potato over to the sink so she could wash it off. That interruption, thankfully, was enough for Vinyl to get herself to calm down a little bit and think about how to broach the subject.

After Octavia asked if there was anything in specific she had in mind, Vinyl shrugged slightly as she began to shred one of the potatoes with a cheese grater. "So... We're, uh, we're a thing now. Yup. Heh, imagine that, eheh," she chuckled almost a little bit nervously, her gaze not moving from the cheese grater as she sliced the potato up. "I mean, uh... just... weird thinking about it. Not in a bad way! It's... like, 'aaaah, I can't believe it!' You know? Ehehe..."

Vinyl couldn't help but laugh a little bit at the 'meh's Octavia was giving in response to the prods, the DJ pony finding this reaction to be highly amusing. She continued to poke at the mare's side until Octavia sat up, offering a couple more prods before finally giving up as she spoke. When one of her back legs had been freed from underneath Octavia, Vinyl slowly began to stretch the leg back and forth, gaze locked onto the pony who was now her marefriend. When 'Tavi removed herself from the couch completely, Vinyl stretched her other leg before lazily rolling off the couch and onto all four hooves, her nose wrinkled after Octavia's jab while stretching more of her limbs at the same time. "Hey, it was something new and I wanted to try it. I mean, you remember, cookies and cream pudding and peanut butter and jam toast combo. Awesome, right? If it hadn't been for you distracting me with that dancing turkey, it would've turned out great."

"And hey, if we're goin' that far, what about that 'incident' with those macadamia nuts where you almost incited a riot?" Vinyl teased, no doubt exaggerating the details about that a little bit as she stepped into the kitchen to pour herself a glass of water and down it, only to begin pulling out a few necessary items to begin making their breakfast. A quick glance to the clock, however, showed that it wasn't quite a conventional morning. Instead... "Well, we're off to a pretty early start today. Three thirty in the morning. Guess we fell asleep early too. Hope you didn't have anything really planned for late in the day." Vinyl paused for a moment before speaking up again, her gaze held on the potatoes she had before her as she idly cut the peels off. "So, uh... Last night was pretty... eventful. You feel like... maybe... talking about it?"

"Yeeaaah, there you go," Vinyl encouraged with a grin as Octavia finally stirred, opting to rub the mare's ear to get rid of any itchies Vinyl might have brought about. "Sooo, you gonna let me get up so I can go get some...water..." Vinyl said, pausing when Octavia sighed heavily and nestled her head against Vinyl's shoulder again. She huffed quietly at that and gently gave Octavia's back a few pats before running her hoof from the middle of the mare's back and up to her chin, where she pushed Octavia's head up from her shoulder. She then held her head in place before leaning forward to plant that kiss she'd promised onto Octavia's cheek before releasing her hold and moving that same hoof to begin prodding at the grey pony's sides. "How'd'ja sleep, 'Tavi? You don't have a headache I hope?" she asked, pausing for a moment before following that up with. "Y'know, if you let me get up for some water, I can make some breakfast for us."

Vinyl wrapped her hooves tightly around Octavia when she settled herself down, a child-like grin on her face as she got comfortable as well in that position, one of her back legs intertwining with Octavia's. One of her hooves slowly ran along the mare's back--similar to how she'd been 'petting' her cheek earlier--a pleased hum and slight giggle escaping her at the same time, at least until Octavia brought up the glasses once more. Vinyl's nose wrinkled at the question before her horn glowed, her magical aura enveloping the glasses over her eyes so she could levitate them up, and onto Octavia's face instead. "Izzzz easy. You juss' put 'em on an' you close your eyes. An' yup, a nap sounds reeaaaal good right 'bout now. So'mmm g'nigh', 'Tavipus," Vinyl slowly began to degenerate into a mumble, eyes drooping closed before she just outright crashed, snoozing quietly against the grey mare above her with her hooves wrapped tightly around her.

So she stayed for the most part until her body woke her up again--with a lack of a hangover, thankfully, though her mouth felt like a desert. With an expression of disgust, Vinyl smacked her lips a couple times before cracking her eyes open and turning her gaze down for a moment to the pony she had her hooves around, before remembering most of what had gone down and why she had woken up like this: the alcohol had impaired her judgment juuuuust enough that she was able to get around to approaching the topic she'd always been hesitant of doing so. More of the minute details escaped her--such as some of the sillier things she'd said and done--but for the most part she had a surprisingly intact memory of the things that had happened. Partly because she hadn't been completely wasted. There hadn't been anywhere near enough alcohol consumed for that.

While she was reluctant to wake the mare sleeping on top of her, the dryness in her mouth was much more pressing and uncomfortable to deal with. So, Vinyl gently rose her hooves to the mare and shook her in the least jarring manner she could manage as she said, "Heeeyy, 'Tavi. C'mon, sleepyflank. I gotta get some water." She paused for a moment before pursing her lips in thought. How to get her awake... Grinning a little mischievously, Vinyl took one of her hooves from around Octavia, only to bring it to her ear so she could gently tickle the inside of it. At the same time, she said, "If you get up in the next minute or so, you'll get another kiss on the cheek," hoping to entice the mare awake with a reward.

"Gooooooooood," Vinyl hummed in response as Octavia returned the hug, her cheek slowly rubbing against the mare as she wore a pleased smile, her eyes closed. After Octavia asked about the song idea and what her plan was with it, Vinyl said, "Yeah, yeah, song later. Rest now." With that, Vinyl abandoned the embrace and scrambled up onto the couch before lying down on it and reaching her hooves out for Vinyl like a child grabbing at their just-out-of-reach stuffed animal. "C'moooon, sleep with me, Octypus," she begged, her intentions not matching up with her words as she involuntarily widened her mouth in a yawn, her glasses still covering her eyes.

Vinyl gave another nod to Kindle after she laid out a schedule that would work for her, the glasses wearing mare pausing for a moment to think if she had anything planned for either of those two days. "Alright, how about a couple days from now? Around noon? And we'll meet... back here. Aaanyway, you let me know when you're ready to wow me, yeah?" she said with a grin as she looked to Striker before stepping away and waving to the both of them. "Been nice talking to you both. See you around!" she called over her shoulder in farewell, her earbuds going back into her ears as she went to buy the rest of the items she'd been sent out to retrieve.

Vinyl just chuckled at Striker's awed response and rose a hoof in dismissal. "It's no problem, dude. How about you make it up to me by really impressing me with a display? 'Cause I'm gonna just say it now: I can't accept anything less than the best. I've got a seal of quality I gotta maintain for my fans. Regardless... I've gotta go finish picking up the rest of my groceries. So it's been nice chatting with you both." She then looked over to Kindle as she picked up the candles she'd bought. "Hey, when do you want that tour I suggested earlier? If we don't schedule it now, I'm liable to get caught up in other things and it'd possibly slip my mind."

The grin on Vinyl's face faded slightly as  the stallion responded to her, agreeing how it was strange not many others were in the pyrotechnics field as well. That kind of thing was something she wouldn't mind learning a little bit about, maybe so she could add just that much more during some of her shows. But it just seemed like she never had the time to get around to something like that... As Striker mentioned that it was actually one of her shows that inspired him to pursue his dream, she raised a brow at him in surprise before grinning a little bit once more. "I'd say it sounds like you've got a pretty lucrative future planned for yourself there, Striker. You get good enough and you'll have ponies lining up to you to make their events better. And, of course, it's ponies like you that were the real masterminds behind making the shows as flashy as they were. I just told them what I wanted, and what I thought might be cool, and they worked their magic. Who knows, if you ever impress me enough, I may even consider hiring you for one of the shows.

"I'd have to see what you could do first, though... How 'bout this: why don't you keep this..." she said as she took the quill from before and gently levitated the piece of paper back over to herself so she could write something on the back. "And contact me through mail if you get the chance and some time, and we'll set up something for you to show me what you can do." She then levitated the piece of paper back over to Striker, showing him the Ponyville address she'd written down.

"Whaaaaaaat? I have no idea what she's talking about," Vinyl said dismissively after Kindle said the autograph thing was all her idea. "She totally asked me for an autograph to give to you. Yep." Vinyl finished this statement off with a single, resolute nod before raising a hoof to fiddle with the earbuds still blasting its music. "So, a pyrotechnician, huh? Pretty small niche for unicorns it seems. Which is kinda surprising, honestly. I mean, who wouldn't jump at the opportunity to play with some fire and make some cool looking stuff? If that's your talent, though, you must be hell at parties," she said teasingly, tossing him a grin in accompaniment.

For a few moments, Vinyl awkwardly continued to hold her hoof out to Striker, waiting for him to bump it as well before she slowly lowered it back to the ground, figuring if he wasn't going to do it by now, he probably wasn't going to do it at all. She guessed maybe he was just one of those ponies who had an aversion to physical contact or something, so she just resigned herself to leaning against the cart once more, shrugging off the mishap as she listened to Striker with perked ears. She smirked a little bit as some of their family history was explained before he moved on to ask about Vinyl instead, and what she was doing in Ponyville. "Well, I kinda live here when I'm not out on tour or doing a gig. Couldn't really stand living in Canterlot, so I just came over here where the ponies are a lot more laid back. You can only do so little up there before the ponies start trying to get the guards after you for 'disrupting the peace'," she said mockingly, her hooves mimicking quotations in the air. "Always wanted to get my bass cannon after those foals, but I knew that'd just make more problems than I wanted to deal with." She shook her head with that before tossing her head to Kindle again. "She's still got something for you, by the way."

Using the quill to begin writing her signature and a small message for Kindle's brother, Vinyl listened idly as the mare began talking about her social predicament. Sounded pretty good that Kindle just uprooting herself didn't upset too much--probably made things a lot easier and a lot less painless. Vinyl gave a brief chuckle when Kindle mentioned the mailmare, knowing all too well what Kindle meant by her words. By the time Kindle finished talking about her parents, Vinyl levitated the receipt back over to the mare before leaning on the cart to listen to the rest of what she had to say. She was a little surprised that someone who was apparently so good at magic and was attending a university was actually a fan of her music... But she supposed it did take all kinds.

She perked her ears up again when Kindle trailed off and stared at her questioningly, only to then blink as she greeted the very same pony they'd been talking about. Well, that really was a strange coincidence. She looked over to the stallion as he approached, giving him a friendly grin in greeting as she waved. "Oh, she hasn't told me too much," Vinyl responded after Striker greeted them both. "She was only just telling me about your horrible bed wetting problem," she teased, grinning wickedly at him for a moment before shaking her head and offering a hoof out to him. "Nice to meetcha, Striker. I hear you're a pretty big fan of my shows; I believe your sis's got something to show you," she said, gently tossing her head to Kindle as she mentioned the mare. "So, the both of you, and your dad are involved with fire in some way, huh? That's pretty cool, actually. Did some freak accident happen to make that a thing?" she asked, obviously teasing. "And is your mother the 'black sheep' of the family or something, or does she do something fire-related, too?"
