Decided to give Psyjan a voice. Went with Brian Bloom playing Jackie Estacado in The Darkness 2.

"I see." Chaser said, him making a mental note about this then standing up and straightening his clothes out a little with his hoof, "Well, that's certainly something if one set could do that. Might need to find out more about it, could be fun having something like that at my next party." He joked before balancing his case back into his back, "Anyway, I think I've taken up enough if your time, and I've got a bunch more stops to make, so I think ill go ahead and let you get back to your lunch proper. Feel free to contact me should you have any further questions about the Dust, I should be back before long either way to introduce to your new garbage ponies for the contaminated waste. I wish you luck, and a good day, Thyme. Try not to finish this project too soon and make the other alchemists involved jealous." Chaser said in jest, before turning to head for the door.

"A few blocks or so," Chaser answered, tapping his hoof against his case a few times, "but it was at the park you say? Huh. You wouldn't happen to know the name of the pony the speaker belonged to would you? Maybe where he or she got it from? I'm curious how this thing works. Unless, of course, it was just a mess of regular speakers all hooked up together and cranked up to eleven. In which case that's far less interesting and more... Stupid of them, to put it bluntly."

"Blew her right off of the stage? And you say this was a few days ago? Hmm..." Chaser hummed, his hunger momentarily taking a back seat to his thoughts, "I think I actually know something about that... Or at least felt it. Ponies at the office were theorizing over this sudden loud noise and weird shaking they felt a few days ago. Most just went with assuming it was an odd tremor or something. Hm. A speaker. Unless I'm thinking of something else? How intense was it at ground zero? I could just be thinking of something else that happened and be mixing them up."

"Speaker accident?" Chaser echoed back, eye momentarily being drawn back to the bagel Thyme had as he remembered his lack of a recent meal, "Was she just sitting too close to one while blaring her favorite music at max volume? Probably believes her ears are invincible. It warranted a hospital visit though?"

Chaser shakes his head, "No, not me. A pair of ponies will come by to pick up any contaminated items, waste or what have you. The first time they arrive I'll be there to introduce them to you and to show you that they are the guys to trust with it." Chaser then locked his case back up and pulled it down from the counter to lean it against himself where he was sitting. "Other than that though, and if you have no other questions, then I would say that takes care of business. How's the family by the way? Doing good?" He asked, doing his usual work in trying to keep up friendly relations with the ponies he was sent to interact with.

"The way the jar is now should be enough to store it safely and without issue," Chaser began to answer, "just so long as you keep the cork stuck in there tight when you aren't working with it. As for precautions, all we can do is advise you to take extra care when handling it. Would probably do well to just always consider it to be a poison, one without an antidote yet as that is one of the things were hoping you will be able to help us with once you concentrate its negative effects. Which means not we nor anypony can help you if you accidentally take any in. Disposing of it will be more annoying then dangerous. We want you to seal up any waste created during your experimentation for us to pick up and dispose of ourselves so as to reduce any chance of it leaking out and causing trouble. Other than those things though, we believe you're more than qualified to handle the Dust and trust that your experience and expertise will keep you safe."

"This is indeed all you will be getting from us unless we start seeing worthwhile results," Chaser replied, setting the jar down next to the paper and laying the cork for it on top, "given how its rather dangerous in its raw form, we don't want to spread it around too much until we've gotten it all brewed up into serviceable potions. You're actually one of a very small hooful of ponies who will be getting any at all. The rest is being kept safe and quiet to avoid unnecessary attention too early on, so you'll understand if we ask you not to spread the news about this discovery, yes? As for where it comes from? Underground." The stallion answered simply.

"A few reasons," Chaser answered, tilting the jar so as to pour a small pile of what looked almost like ash onto the center of the paper provided, the stallion being careful not to let it kick itself back into the air as it was released from its container, "the ponies who have been exposed to it suffer odd effects. Hallucinations are the most common symptom between cases, but each pony seems to experience this stuff a bit differently. One mare thought she was strong enough to lift a cart louder up with quarried stone over her head all on her own. Thing is... she almost did. Other then that we've found some ponies had their bodies either fully accept or violently reject it with little middle ground, the latter resulting in some ponies being hospitalized as if stricken with a severe illness or moderately dangerous poison that there is no antidote to while the former actually feel better than they have in years.

"We just call it 'Dust' right now," He went on to give a name to the substance, "and I'd say it would be a good idea to avoid breathing any more than the smallest trace amounts of it. So far we've been undecided if its been worth looking into or should be avoided and ignored so we've been passing small quantities off to our most capable alchemists to see what they can do with it. We're trying to see if its affects can be isolated then concentrated and made into different potions, for both the good and the bad. Think of it like a really special set of orders being placed on behalf of Marigold itself. This will be worth your time, I guarantee it."

"What I've got here is something we don't exactly know what to do with at the moment," Chaser responded, him casting a brief glance back at the front windows of the shop before returning his attention to the jar that soon found its way into his hoof, "This here is a by-product of another project we have going elsewhere," he began to explain, pausing to take a breath that he then held as he used his teeth to pull out the cork in the jar, the earth pony then using his other hoof to fan away the small gray smoky poof that escaped out into the open air once it had the chance. "Do you have some paper I can use for this?" Chaser requested, spitting the cork of the jar out of his mouth and onto his case then breathing normally again, "I wouldn't want to get any of this on your counter."

"Likewise!" Chaser replied as the mare left after their hoof bump, him not really feeling they'd actually properly met, but she seemed more fascinated with that bagel at the moment. He couldnt blame her, the sound of Thymes grumbling belly only serving to remind him of how he was now having to force the naughty thought of swiping the older mares own bagel for himself out of his mind. Once Vita had left the shop Chaser turned back to face the mare he'd come to see, him giving a slight shrug before sitting back onto his rump to free up his front hooves, "Well, may as well get right into it then, eh?" He said as he unclicked the locks keeping his case secure, it opening on his side just enough for him to remove a small glass jar, its contents hidden behind rag that had been wrapped around it for added padding to protect the container and tied securely into place with some twine, the only thing showing being left exposed to show what it was being the cork peeking out from the top as well as its general shape that was no doubt quite familiar to the alchemist given her daily handling of such things, "How in the mood for something new to play around with would you say you are today?' He asked the alchemist as his case was clicked close once more.

Patiently sitting near the shop's counter and looking around at The Alembic's many different colored potions in their different sized and shaped bottles as he waited for its owner to return, a brown coated earth pony with a neat blonde mane hummed a small tune as he idly tapped a front on his black case he always carried with him wherever he went and had now laid out in front of him. This was... what... stop nine on his list for today? Yeah, something like that... Busy busy... He'd double check his schedule after he was done here to be sure. Still needed to have lunch too but, if he remembered right, he'd get to have something special today if he just hung in there. Stop number 11, 12, 13 or whichever number was a talk over a meal at the Stake House, so all in good time... Mmm... Kabobs...

Being pulled out of his tasty thoughts by the returning mares, Chaser put on a smile and stood up, "Afternoon, Thyme," he returned the greeting, giving the mare she was with a small nod in hello as well before lifting his case up and onto the shops counter as they entered, "and possibly a few things depending on how it goes. However I can assure you that this time I'm not here to drop off some colt or filly for you to show how not to have their potions blow up in their faces." He joked before looking between the white mare that had arrived with Thyme and the alchemist, "But first, who's your friend? I hope I wasn't"interrupting your lunches." Considering how hungry he himself was, the sight of food making him wish he was on around step 10 even more than before, he wouldn't wish that on anypony.

Original Character Profiles / Minos
« on: January 27, 2014, 02:01:35 pm »

Group: Minos/Marigold

History: "Minos" is a name with quite a history attached to it. Originally a name thought up and used by two kids who kept it as a kind of badge of honor for being in a special club that they and only they were ever meant to be a part of, it grew and changed along with the ones who created it. Starting off as innocent and just a good way for the two to bond and form an unbreakable friendship, the name matured into an alias for the two to use once they reached adulthood and began to start causing trouble as they realized what each of their unique abilities could do when put towards certain activities for profit, one being a master at working out a plan and the other being incredible at making sure things went exactly as they were supposed to.

Steadily escalating their actions into full on crimes, then only growing more ambitious and developing a reputation among criminal groups, Minos took on another meaning as it began to be used to refer not to the original two responsible for its spread but now the small group they were starting to form as they took on bigger jobs that required larger and larger crews to pull off. Catching the eye of one of the biggest organizations in the criminal underworld, the usual promise of riches in exchange for services eventually led to their absorption into their larger entity but not, however, their dissolution as access to more resources and the stronger position of influence by association only spurred the two Minos leaders into wishing for even more power.

Plotting, planning, manipulating and fighting their way even further up in their careers, the two were, after enough time, able to fan the flames of a hostile take over of the organization that was supporting them, winning loyalties and removing those in their way until the once proud and powerful head of the snake was nearly severed in order to be replaced. Losing their chance to punctuate their hard fought victory with the ending of their former boss due to some unexpected events, and a lot of luck on their enemies part, the two shrugged the missed opportunity off as the name Minos took on yet another new meaning when they claimed the spoils of their criminal war.

Most would have been content with the small but highly profitable empire the duo had stolen, but the planner of the pair wanted to push even further. Over the course of many years he began to expand, pushing the borders of their territory to almost the limits of the country of Equestria itself while simultaneously seeking out and buying, negotiating under the table deals with or full on forming legitimate businesses to use as more solid cover for, what was now being seen as really "his" despite the frustration and protests of his partner, the organization.

Today, Minos is the true name and face hiding behind the guise of the Marigold Conglomerate, a collection of high profile companies and organizations with members including such names as Hoofprint Cosmetics and Accessories, shady dealings being done in the back rooms of the same buildings where household name products are made. Minos' wealth and power is at its peak, their activities, both legal and illegal, remain strong and the stability of the group is holding solid despite a brief near civil war after disputes between the original two founders of the name over choices made regarding its future led to one of their deaths.

Group Strengths: Having a strong wall of legitimate businesses to hide behind, Minos has the luxury of being able to move about and operate using a thick smokescreen to cover their every move. Their large territory, wealth and position at the top of the ladder allows for them to maintain strong influence among smaller organizations in the criminal underbelly of society by either throwing money around, exercising intimidation, or simply sending their agents to force things into being how they want them to be. Whatever Minos doesn't have from the start is simply a few purchases away from being obtained and used to further whatever goals they have at the time.

Group Weaknesses: What was supposed to be something that merely made their work easier and helped to bring in more bits is starting to garner much more attention by the stallion in charge than was planned as the Marigold Conglomerate is beginning to slowly take over as the primary focus for Minos. Shifting towards a legal operation is causing concern among those who preferred the illegal lifestyle that is slowly fading. Whispered rumors are circulating among older members of how the pony in charge may be growing soft after the death of his oldest friend and business partner with the groups tactics shifting towards almost solely relying on persuasion and money, worry starting to grow that the current stability of their organization may begin to weaken then crumble in time as stronger individuals sense their leaders developing weakness, a possible schism being theorized as occurring between Marigold and Minos in the future.

Notable Members

Name: Janko "Psyjan"

Gender: Male

Age: fourties

Race: Earth Pony

Physical Description: Appearing slightly thinner and weaker than the average stallion, first glances often prove false as Psyjan is actually much more physically capable than one would assume. This vermilion colored earth pony keeps his orange mane nearly fully shaved off while his tail is merely trimmed shorter than usual. His eyes are a watery gray and his cutie mark shows a pair of overlapping coins, one heads the other tails. He has several large scars, though none are, to his dismay, in any cool spots to show off.

Strengths: A master at putting a plan together, Psyjan's strengths fall within being able to predict and work around any conceivable problem, him being so good at this that some have gone so far as to joke that he has the power to predict the future.

Weaknesses: Losing his oldest friend has caused Psyjan to start to possibly lose his edge as well, his tactics and leadership beginning to become more tame with buying out competition becoming an increasingly common way of dealing with problems. While still an extremely dangerous enemy to make who can, and has, continued to ensure that his rivals fear him for all the right reasons, its rumored that the stallion may be considering giving up his criminal empire in favor of focusing solely on Marigold instead.

Bio: The remaining living half of the original founders of the name "Minos", Janko was born to a family of carpenter's living in a small town located out in Equestria's countryside. Dealing with bullies in his youth for certain quirks in his personality, the colt met and befriended a minotaur of the same age as he shared the pony's troubles, being seen as an "outsider" in the town as well due to him and his father being the only ones of their kind living there. Relying on and watching each others backs as they both grew up, the pair formed a powerful friendship that lasted decades as they eventually went into business together as small time crooks, Psyjan learning of his skill in working out plans and having it be complimented very well by his sharp minded and physically strong minotaur partner. Forming the name "Minos", as well as adopting separate aliases for themselves, the two pushed it and themselves to the places of power that the organization has reached today, but, due to differences in belief on how things should be run within the organization escalating too far, it led to the death of Psyjan's oldest and best friend, leaving him as the sole controller of his empire.

Name: Chaser

Gender: Male

Age: Late twenties

Race: Earth Pony

Description: A cleanly dressed and groomed earth pony, Chaser has a brown coat with matching brown eyes and a neatly professional looking blonde mane and tail. Wearing a business suit almost one hundred percent of the time, Chaser carries himself with relaxed confidence as he attempts to fast talk others into being convinced to agree with whatever deal being offered at the time. His cutie mark is a rolled up scroll sealed with a dollar sign.

Strengths: Able to talk for hours about any subject regardless of if he actually knows anything about said subject. Often manages to keep all deals made strongly in favor of his employers whether the second party is aware or not.

Weaknesses: Is pretty much useless when it comes to anything that doesn't involve words and money.

Bio: Minos, especially after the forming of the Marigold Conglomerate, needs ponies out there to represent them and speak their words as they make the deals and offers required to further their efforts. Chaser, having been discovered through an acquired used carriage dealership, is one such stallion, him having spent years convincing ponies to buy and sell with the idea of maximum profit always being at the front of his mind. He adjusted quickly to his new bosses demands and requirements when his old business was bought out, and after proving himself as a quick thinker and reliable pony to broker their deals has since become one of their go to representatives for both sides of the Minos and Marigold coin.

---

Name: Dodge

Gender: Male

Age: Mid thirties

Race: Earth Pony

Description: Having a silver coat, blue eyes, black tail and slicked back mane, Dodge usually wears either a sarcastic or cocky expression as he cuts down his peers with snarky comments and jabs. Wearing nothing but his saddle bags which bear a symbol of a feather over a disk, the same symbol as his cutie mark, the stallion can often appear as being overall unkempt from how he's normally left with little time for proper grooming due to his frequent moving from place to place.

Strengths: Dodge is very good at sabotage and getting in and put of places he shouldn't be, having managed to even infiltrate Canterlot Castle multiple times for several reasons in the past. Skilled in forgery, thievery, and getting himself put of scraps by using his hooves, the silver stallion has a well earned reputation as a valuable asset to any group lucky enough to hire him.

Weaknesses: Best kept very very very far away from any kind of negotiations as Dodge is rather abrasive and rude to those he doesn't respect, often insulting others solely for his own amusement. He doesn't play well with others either as he is very good at what he does on his own and sees being assigned partners or put in a group as just a handicap that can easily cripple him.

Bio: Dodge is a pony of many names and fabricated backgrounds, the stallion having run with a number of high profile groups in the past as he migrated to wherever his services would be worth the most money. Being a kind of 'free agent' in the underworld, the silver coated stallion has managed to bounce around in the criminal underworld of the country, working all kinds of jobs as he continuously brings results and improves his personal reputation. His abilities point towards some form of training though he has always claimed the contrary, and currently he has signed himself up with Minos as he has recognized them as being where the money is right now.
