Sound looked to Marked at his comment on the Guard. He didn't dare to say what he thought, and it was indeed true that most of them did indeed take great pride in their work and care for civilians, there was always the small percentage of individuals providing a service solely for their own personal gain. Money, power, whatever benefit they felt they could exploit. Again, this was a small percentage, especially among the Guard, but Sound couldn't help but recall an isolated issue an old friend got into.

Bringing his mind back to the matter at hand, Sound relayed the facts to himself. Internally, since Pepper Spray seemed to be doing the same thing aloud. Grey unicorn, stolen bit-purse, an individual named 'Cloaked'. The first thing Sound could think to do, though it conflicted with Potato's request and his earlier train of thought, was to inform one of the Guard. Their duty was to protect civilians, whether or not they actually cared for the matters at hand, and besides, what could three ponies possibly do to solve a crime?

Well, whomever Potato was looking for, the specifics really didn't narrow down a figure to look out for more than the original vague description. In fact, if anything, it now suggested to Sound that he now had to go find someone allegedly called 'Cloaked' in order to find the other one. This would take some time, and though he wanted to help, Sound wasn't entirely eager to run through Ponyville yelling the name of somepony he didn't know in hopes of finding him or her...

Sound took note of the one named Pepper Spray's introduction being aimed to the three ponies in general, and in turn repeated his earlier actions of raising a hoof and speaking his name, "...S-Sound...". It was his usual way of greeting new individuals.

Looking back to Potato Ponie, he brought up the courage to ask a question concerning this 'grey unicorn' he seemed to be eager to find. "...U-Uhm, M-Mister Potato...? C-Could you t-tell... us a l-little more about th-this... unicorn y-you're trying to f-find...? W-We might b-be able... t-to keep an e-eye out for... th-this pony if we know... s-specifically wh-what to look out f-for..."

"Skitabachi." A little smile of amusement struck Sound's face, one he felt the need to hide by looking away from the 'superhero' who said it. What kind of absurd word was that? It just sounded like gibberish...

The initial humorous value of this faded enough for Sound to regain a straight face, and look back to Potato, Nivalia, and- Oh, the other two had joined the scene, and evidently taken an interest in Nivalia's reptile companion. Of which had somehow slithered right under and past Sound's feet without his noticing. The colt's stance froze solid at this realisation, and he didn't dare move until 'Caprica' was back in the possession of its owner. Why he had adopted an 'if-I-don't-move-it-can't-see-me' approach to this, he did not entirely know. "...U-Uhhmm... M-M-Miss N-Nivalia...? ...Y-Your p-p-pet...?"

Sound, not fully understanding the reasoning behind Nivalia's apology, responded with '...W-... I-It's okay... The s-snake isn't doing a-anything... t-to bother me..." This was not entirely a lie; it was actually the lack of movement from Caprica that had unnerved Sound. "...S-She's a... r-really n-nice snake..." he added, in attempts to be polite, though he realised the compliment sounded odd as soon as he said it.

Whilst he missed Nivalia and Potato's comments about a Manticore, he heard Potato's enquiry as to whether anyone had spotted a 'grey unicorn'. Well, that was somewhat vague. Sound guessed he had spotted about four grey ponies today, though he hadn't clocked onto any additional appendages, wings, horns or otherwise. Heck, one could have had a leg missing, and Sound would have probably overlooked it entirely...

The young colt gave a small jump as he heard a noise a distance behind him, his head turning sharply to glare behind him. Seeing it was simply a sneeze from one of two more nearby ponies, he simply looked back to his hooves.

"Well Sound did you want anything? I hit you in the face with that rag, so if you need anything I can get it."

Fair as that seemed, Sound simply shook his head with an accompanying "...N-No thanks...", indicating to Potato a respectful declination of the offer. Though it showed he was willing to make up for the earlier unintentional act, Sound didn't want to inconvenience Potato. All he really wanted was a drink, but that could wait until he went home.

Though he was interacting with Potato, Sound's eyes never left the creature on Nivalia's back, the serpent named Caprica. It's constant, unblinking staring at him was unnerving, despite it's obvious lack of danger. After all, who in their right mind would carry a poisonous snake around town?

As the mare, whom had now introduced herself as Nivalia, helped him back to his hooves, Sound seemed to slowly calm down, only to look to the superhero when Nivalia introduced him, whom then went on to lecture Sound on how the name 'Potato Ponie' was spelt. Which... didn't seem to matter, since 'Ponie' was pronounced exactly the same as 'Pony'. Sound couldn't think of how often he'd be writing the name down, frankly. He didn't write many letters to people, save for his family, and the occasional one or two friends.

Oh, that's right, Sound still needed to introduce himself. He took a deep breath, still trying to calm his nerves a little, and deciding to try and let this moment be his first impression, rather than the one before.

Still feeling a little shaky, however, he simply raised a shaky hoof to give a feeble wave, and simply said "...S-Sound...". Alright, not all that good a first impression, but still better than being on the floor with a bird-foul stained rag on his face, screaming like he was falling off a cliff.

Sound's eyes made sudden, twitching movements, firstly to the 'superhero' pony's hoof extended to him, then to the mare's hoof when she in turn offered it (presumedly because the young colt didn't seem willing to accept the other's), to the snake, most likely owned by the mare. Slowly, his hoof lifted, though he wasn't sure to whom he was giving it to.

Suddenly, the colt moved closer, shaking him rather too decidedly-violently for Sound's liking, worsening his nerves. 'Stop that!' is what he'd hoped to say. Instead, however, with his throat seizing up from stress, all he could muster was a strange squeaking noise that sounded like he was being strangled.

Everything that had happened in the past few minutes, the hawk waking him up, the poop-rag in the face, and now the 'superhero' seeming to think shaking him like a ragdoll would bring him to his senses, was badly distressing Sound.

Sound said nothing to the two now looking directly at him. Instead, he simply remained on the floor, looking up at them with wide eyes, like a small animal that had just noticed something hunting it.

This was SO embarrassing. First day in the new town, and he'd had a rag covered in 'mess' thrown in his face, causing him to scream like a girl. And now he was just sitting there on the floor, trying not to look like he might cry. Sound was always told first impressions were everything, and needless to say, this one could not possibly have gone worse...

What happened next was an unfortunate sign that poor Sound Wrecker was most certainly not still asleep. The superhero-dressed pony had received a rag from the grey mare of whom was the other half of this scene. After using it to clear from his mane the mess that the jerk-bird had made, he discarded it. By throwing it straight into Sound's face.

With a sudden, sharp scream, the colt dropped to the floor, his front hooves scrambling madly at the rag, tearing it away from his face and hurling it to the ground.

It took a moment for Sound to realise it was probably an absurd thing to have a grudge against a bird. However, had he taken any longer to stand up and take a few steps forward, that grudge would probably have persisted, and greatly intensified, given the creature's next... motions... before making its leave. If Sound didn't know any better, he'd have guessed that was intentional. Who knew birds were capable of being such jerks?

With no real desire to go anywhere in particular, Sound contemplated whether or not he had had enough of being outside today. It had been about a half-hour, but he'd evidently spent half of that sleeping like a log. There was a heck of a lot more of Ponyville to see.

...Like, for example... some sort of superhero, apparently. Sound had caught sight of it, just out of the corner of his eye, a brown pony in a matching cape. What in the name of...? There were just no words for this. Did this guy lose a bet or something?

He seemed to be causing a fuss of some sort, having yelled at someone to 'look out', ran up to a mare and took her scarf- Oh, that was a snake?

"...Th-This town is... just c-crazy..." Sound was beginning to wonder if he was still asleep, as he took some steps toward the scene, deciding that the obscenity of it was all too much to ignore.

Around ten to fifteen minutes had passed, and Sound's intended quick nap had indeed slowly fallen into a state of sleep, evident through his light snoring, and general obliviousness to the goings-on around him. For example, a hawk attempting to land on the tree he slept under, sharp claws grasping the branches mere feet above his head. As said hawk struggled to find a branch able to carry its weight, the frantic rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs and branches finally provoked a response from the stallion, as his ear began to twitch, showing signs of his return to consciousness. Slowly, his right eye forced itself open, his hoof instinctively raising to block out the now-blinding sunlight. What was all the noise? Sound's groggy mind couldn't make heads or tails of what it was, let alone where it was coming from...

THUNK. Without warning, a tree branch above finally gave way, tumbling through the air, and landing, somewhat heavily, square on the young stallion's nose. Evidently, this is a fantastic substitute to the average alarm clock, as Sound Wrecker jolted into an upright sitting position with a startled yelp, his wide eyes cast firmly skyward. Still in the tree, seemingly unfazed by a sudden loud outburst, the bird of prey simply stared down to the ground at the odd pony below, as he in turn glared it in the eye, a clear look of irritation in his eye by being woken up.

Ponyville / Getting Acquainted

The day was calm. Peaceful, distant sounds sailed through the air. graceful birdsong, the wind gently blowing through the trees. Sound Wrecker sat in the kitchen of his new home, by the open window, eyes to the clouds in the sky. Today was his first full day living alone. He had arrived in Ponyville early in the night, and had spent the remainder of it making himself at home, unpacking his belongings, and finally falling asleep so late it was in fact early morning time. He'd only woken up a few hours ago, well past midday.

Well, this was just what I had been hoping for, Sound thought to himself, evaluating his new residence. Ponyville was much quieter than his old home, but not too far from anything. The house itself matched the same criteria, roughly halfway between the town centre and the outskirts. Yep, perfect... Everything he could ever want here...

...So why did he miss Canterlot...?

The sunlight faded, flickering wildly, and Sound was dragged from his thoughts back to reality. Looking up to the Sun, he noticed what was disrupting the flow of light; two or three Pegasi silhouettes, floating in the sky, evidently in conversation with each other. Moments passed, and it seemed that they had decided to go somewhere together, flying westward, away from Sound's home, to the town centre.
Perhaps I just need to get out of the house, his thoughts restarted, after a small pause. It would do some good to take a walk. See the sights. Familiarise himself with the area. Slowly clambering to his hooves, Sound made his way out of the kitchen, through the main room, and out of the door.

A mild hubbub filled the town centre, as mares and colts tended various market stalls, making purchases for their needs and wants, from vegetables for whatever they were going to have for dinner, to fancy little trinkets that happened to catch their eye. Overhead, the occasional Pegasus would make their landing or take to the skies, to and from all sorts of directions. A look of wonder slowly washed over Sound's face. All this was... almost exactly like home here. Just less... busy. Less scary. More manageable. Canterlot was utter chaos compared to this, almost violent by comparison, in fact. Ponies would shove past you without so much as a 'excuse me', and glare at you as if it was your fault for being in their way. Everypony seemed much more gracious here, from what Sound could overhear in other conversations. He even found the odd smile being thrown his way, even from shopkeeps as he walked past their market stall, despite him not stopping to buy anything.

After some time, deciding he wanted to take some time to rest, Sound came to a tree, perfectly shielding the ground beneath it from the sunlight ahead, which was getting to be quite warm now. He made his way to sit down in the cool shade, continuing to take in the sights of the area. He slowly lowered his head, laying it to rest in the soft grass, the lack of sleep from last night starting to catch up to him. Perhaps he could just... rest his eyes a little... for a few moments...

It took a moment for Sound to take in what Lickety was saying, as she blurted it out faster than he could comprehend. "...Uhh... Y-Yeah. ...That'd be g-good..." he replied, not entirely sure which of the two options he was answering to, Lickety passing the details of the show on if they met again, or it oh-so-conveniently concluding its Canterlot performance and travelling to Ponyville for him to catch it the very next day. He couldn't help but notice the latter seemed somewhat implausible, unless this storyteller was capable of casting a Teleportation Spell.

In the time that Lickety and Ironfire had been conversing, Sound had resorted to glancing out the window, at the bustling street outside. He did not wish to interrupt Miss Split whilst she was tending to customers. Noticing Mister Ironfire's departure, however, he gave another wave to the stallion as ways of farewell.

His attention turned back to Lickety, Sound re-took his sitting position on the floor. A quick glance at a clock told that he had still had just over a half-hour to kill. Luckily, the errand Ironfire was tending to had provided a subject.

"...S-So this looks c-cool... the Trixie's T-Tales thing... I r-reckon anypony who c-calls themselves a t-traveller's... g-going to have s-some interesting stories..."
