"Nice to meet you as well," Rarity levitates one of the more colorful cloaks off the Autumn rack and folds it with her magic, "And as thanks for coming to tell me about that." Having now put together that the letter was from Dark, she sets the cloak on his back.

She waves goodbye, "Do have a nice day."

Rarity took a moment to take that in, "I... what? While I did put some of my personal touch into it, I think I left it rather plain enough to not offend anypony's tastes." Baffled by the thought that somepony might seek revenge for having their home fixed up, Rarity finds herself at a loss. "I suppose I should apologize."

Now worried that she's done something wrong, Rarity speaks with concern, "You wouldn't happen to know where she is? I can't have her not wanting to stay in her own house."

"Well, that does sound familiar." Rarity puts a hoof to her chest and her eyes stray in recollection, "I helped an orange filly fix up and redecorate her place just today. 'Twas a terrible mess, the city was going to demolish it and she had moved in just recently."

Rarity's eyes widen in realization, "Ah!" She puts her hoof down and looks back to Dark, "That could very well have been the friend she spoke of," She gives a small giggle, "Although, I didn't think she literally wouldn't recognize the place."

Rarity eyes the cloak, certain it's not one of hers or even the one he was wearing before, but decides to put the thought aside.

"As I said," She trots behind her curtain, "I do not get started on cloaks until the season is underway," She wheels out a scarce Autumn lineup, "Dresses tend to keep me quite busy." There's a few expressive cloaks with mixes of brown, green, and orange shades that might be a bit much, and a few of plain autumn colors. "These are from last year, though I believe they keep up with current trends well enough."

"Why thank you darling." She responds to the praise whilst waiting for him to come to a decision, unfortunately he picks up the black cloak.

"Oh dear." Rarity had forgotten where she'd put that cloak, which she made when she thought her career was over. Rarity quickly thinks of an excuse to get the gloomy article away from her potential customer, "That, uh, should be on the winter rack." She pulls it away with her magic and levitates it behind the curtain.

"If you..." Rarity trails off as she notices the change in Dark's cloak, "Excuse me if this seems silly but, did you change into another cloak?"

Rarity smiles and leads the way into her store, levitating the letter off to a counter.

"Just a moment." She says as Dark enters. Then she grasps all her display mannequins, featuring various dresses, in her magic and rotates them behind a curtain, which are then replaced by cloaked mannequins. She heads behind the same curtain herself and wheels out a clothing rack lined with capes.

"Most of these are from my Summer line, I tend to only get to things other than dresses once the season is underway." She explains, taking a place beside what's now on display so that Dark may browse.

Most of the selection are a summery pink, purple, tan, or green. However a jet black hooded cloak stood out in the clothing rack amongst all the bright colors.

"Why of course!" Rarity exclaims, "I may keep dresses at the forefront of my business, but that certainly doesn't mean I can't do other things. In fact, some of the dresses I make include a cloak to go over them." Rarity clears her throat, noticing she's getting too excited.

"Sorry, if you'd like I can show you some of the cloaks I've done." Rarity shifts to turn away but waits for a response, quickly including, "Though I don't think I've anything that might suit a stallion such as yourself at the moment, I can remedy that in no time at all."

"Ah!" Taken aback but maintaining composure she receives the letter with her magic, "I do apologize for being so assuming." Bringing the letter to herself she notices it's only two lines and decides to give it a quick read before looking back up, "Hmm, why I don't think this is for me at all." Rarity tries again to make heads or tails of the message and she comes up with a couple ways it could apply to her. However she instead focuses on who the filly it mentions might be.

Running through any grey filly she can remember, her mind lands on Silver Spoon. "Ah, this must be for Sweetie Belle. I can't imagine the situation but..." Rarity realizes the stallion probably doesn't care for any details, and hovers the letter to her side. "Well, thank you." She pauses and looks over his cape again, "Were you sure you didn't want a new cloak? The season will be changing quite soon."

A pristine white cat, Opal Essence, darts around the edge of the boutique and pushes her way in through the door.

Rarity follows after with a short giggle, "Poor Opal, never one for a bath." She remarks before spotting the approaching stallion. "Oh?" Not spotting the letter he was after she greets him, assuming he's an incoming customer. "Hello there," She gives a short wave then trots a bit closer, "Welcome to Carousel Boutique." She tosses her hair with a motion of the head.

Rarity quickly looks him over, "Were you looking for some Autumn colors to replace your Summer cloak?" With a moment more to look she notices something odd about the cape but doesn't quite know what it is.

Rarity rushes out her door, a finely packaged dress floats behind her wrapped in the aura of her magic. "Oh no, what if I missed the mailmare?" Rarity hastily looks about and spots what she considers a lucky break: An young orange pegasus mare hovering overhead with a large crate. "Pardon me dear." Rarity keeps a normal tone as the mare is only eight feet off the ground.

The slow moving pegasus comes to a stop and shifts toward Rarity with a quizzical look before glancing down at the path and noticing she must've gotten in Rarity's way. She hastily moves aside.

Rarity gives a short laugh at the misunderstanding, "I'm actually wondering if you know a less busy mailmare, I need an express delivery made, it simply cannot wait."

"I'm not busy at all!" The pegasus suddenly responds, dropping her crate which slams the ground with its immense weight and throws up a cloud of dust. By the time Rarity recovers her senses from being suddenly covered in filth the pegasus already has the package in her hooves and is staring at the address written on the front, "Canterlot, by today, got it!"

Rarity shakes herself off with a short cough, "Do be more careful, dear." Rarity states before looking back to where the pegasus should be. However she'd gone and left her crate. "Wait, what about..." She stops as she scans the air, nopony in sight, "Oh my." Now surely the crate may not have been too important but to leave it outside unattended, especially in front of the boutique where it would ruin the image, Rarity couldn't let the pegasus lose somepony's things so frivolously. She spots an address on the box, "Well Rarity, you'll just have to deliver it yourself."

-

"Ugh, why did it have to be on the outskirts of town! There's no stallions around that can help me!" She whines. Rarity had placed the crate in a cart and hauls it slowly along the least active part of Ponyville. "I hope that pegasus isn't expecting any sort of tip!" She growls, mostly due to the physical stress but will likely tip her for dropping her other job for Rarity's, as she arrives at the address... The horrendously appalling address, which gave her no room to sigh in relief. "This place is a disaster!" Her eyes wash over the house in disbelief.

Broken windows, cracks in the walls, steel beams haphazardly placed to keep the home from collapsing. Rarity was no construction worker but this place definitely needed her help. She ditches the cart, straightens her hair, dusts herself off, and looks inside where the door should be for the owner.

Mane Six / Rarity, the Fashionista
« on: May 29, 2014, 03:56:02 pm »
Name: Rarity

Race: Unicorn

Gender: Mare

Age: A lady never tells.

Physical Description: A shining white coat and stylishly curled purple mane. Rarity sports a sky blue eye shadow and has three fine diamonds for a cutie mark. She also wears false eyelashes.

Special Talent: Aesthetics, an eye and love for what is beautiful as well as an ability to make beautiful things, particularly dresses.

Likes: The finer things, classy clothing, high society. Canterlot and the Crystal Empire. Anything rich and glamorous really. She also enjoys being generous and offering to lend a hand to those in need, as long as she doesn't get dirty. (Edit) + Anything shiny enough to show her reflection.

Dislikes: Camping and nature. She doesn't like when things are tarnished by dust, dirt, or mold and will seek to clean/restore them. She's against doing hard labor or anything that might make her break a sweat or otherwise get her dirty. As well she doesn't like herself appearing unkempt.

Strengths: When defending a friend she's fearless in combat. Great at seamlessly weaving compliments into her words. Very creative with her work.

Weaknesses: Famous handsome stallions tend to distract Rarity from keeping to her usual standards. In her pursuit to spread her form of fashion she can tend to overdo it and make some ponies uncomfortable.

Fears: Losing her clout in the fashion industry, at times exaggerating that even small mistakes could ruin her entire career.
